- [West of Center: Art and the Counterculture Experiment in America, 1965-1977](https://kennyfallonjr.com/review-west-of-center/): Overall I thought this collection of essays was pretty good and I’d recommend it to anyone curious about: making art outside the largest urban centers, or the lesser known points in West Coast art history, or San Francisco history, or DIY building and craft, or U.S. 1960’s counterculture history. I just thought there was something nice about the early to mid 2000’s when there seemed to be a lot more different and interesting websites. I like the idea of a digital garden with links to a bunch of stuff, like some people have talked about. I won’t be posting on a schedule or anything, and this may just end up being book reviews and pictures of buildings. - [Epicenter: Combining/Creating/Convening Zine](https://kennyfallonjr.com/epicenter-since-the-last-summit-zine/): EPICENTER: COMBINING/CREATING/CONVENING ZINE (Completed in Green River, Utah in 2025) I designed, edited, printed, cut, and folded this zine for Epicenter‘s 2025 Summit, as a little gift for each attendee to introduce them to the organization and catch them up to what’s been going on since the last Summit in 2022. The zine is printed on sheets of 11″ x 17″ 20# paper. The zine makes more legible the organization’s work, which can seem a little nebulous because it spans a wide range of types and scales. While there were a number of Substack subscribers, I focused on mailing physical copies (typically 8 black and white 20# pages measuring 8.5″ x 11″) to each of the 500 PO boxes in town. - [Folding Display Rack](https://kennyfallonjr.com/folding-display-rack/): FOLDING DISPLAY RACK (Completed in 2024 in Green River, Utah) I designed and made a folding rack to display merchandise for the 6th annual Green River Rocks festival, and regular Epicenter merchandise the rest of the year. The rack is about 48″ tall, 40″ wide, and 24″ deep at its base, a size that fits comfortably within the bed of a late model Toyota Tacoma truck, for easy transport. Despite its compact surface area, the thin, metal cable-bolstered white zine shelves and the pegboard accommodate a lot of different size objects. - [Canal Commons](https://kennyfallonjr.com/canal-commons/): CANAL COMMONS (Phase I completed in Green River, Utah in 2025) Canal Commons is Epicenter‘s affordable housing project consisting of 10 rental and owner-occupied homes surrounding a common green space. This small new neighborhood will extend along the historic town irrigation canal within walking distance of a grocery store, library, post office, park, and one of Utah’s four Amtrak train stations.  As project manager, I coordinated funding ($1.9 million dollars), revised the construction documents for Phase I (five income-restricted rental houses), managed construction and draw requests, and worked on the early stages of leasing up the units.  Design of the… Read More »About
- [The Strawburb](https://kennyfallonjr.com/the-strawburb/): THE STRAWBURB (Completed in Spanish Valley, Utah in 2020) At Community Rebuilds I lead the collaborative design process for two new home designs that make use of natural and ecological building techniques and that can be constructed with interns during a semester. These new designs provide visual variety while maintaining compact floor plans and fitting into the current feel of the street. These homes were then built at a rural site south of Moab. Final facade materials were chosen by each homeowner. *Photos of the completed homes are provided courtesy of Community Rebuilds.
- [The Last Straw](https://kennyfallonjr.com/the-last-straw/): THE LAST STRAW MAGAZINE (Ongoing remote work since 2020) In addition to coordinating operations, writing articles, and editing content as part of the Editorial Collective, I’ve done graphic design  for the magazine. This design work includes magazine spread layout, illustrations, promotional images, and the logo for The Last Straw Magazine. I’ve aimed for a made-by-hand feel and crafty accessibility that’s reminiscent of 1970s passive solar design books combined with the urgency of our times.
- [Imagining Rural Housing](https://kennyfallonjr.com/imagining-rural-housing/): IMAGINING RURAL HOUSING (Exhibited in Salt Lake City, Utah in 2023) I made these digital collages as part of the conceptual exploration of new affordable housing in a rural desert town. These collages were displayed at the Utah Museum of Contemporary Art (UMOCA) as part of the Haimaz, Heimr, Hjem, Heem, Ham, Home exhibition. I aimed for this imagery to reflect the site history, current context, and ecology of the Canal Commons affordable housing development in Green River, Utah.
- [Dave's Revised Home](https://kennyfallonjr.com/daves-revised-home/): DAVE’S REVISED HOME (Completed in Newbern, Alabama in 2019) As part of a team of four I designed, built, and occupied a prototype for rural affordable housing at Auburn University’s Rural Studio. We designed a version of the 20K Home that is not only affordable to build but also affordable to live in, due to lower utility bills and home insurance payments. We then tested our design by comparing it to a baseline home using sensors and our observations. I aimed for this book’s design to recall the plentiful geological field reports done for the region. - [Mass Timber Bench](https://kennyfallonjr.com/things/): MASS TIMBER BENCH (Completed in 2018 and visited until 2021 in Newbern, Alabama) I designed and made a bench to use while we built Dave’s Revised Home (the 20Kv22 Home) using wood scraps. The only seating on site we had were flimsy plastic single person chairs, but we had plenty of short, uniform, untreated 2×6 boards after cutting down our wall studs. I took advantage of this abundance and laminated the scraps with screws into a massive seat.
