EPICENTER: COMBINING/CREATING/CONVENING ZINE

(Green River, Utah in 2025)

I designed, edited, printed, cut, and folded this zine for Epicenter‘s 2025 Summit, as a little gift for each attendee to introduce them to the organization and catch them up to what’s been going on since the last Summit in 2022. The zine is printed on sheets of 11″ x 17″ 20# paper.

The zine makes more legible the organization’s work, which can seem a little nebulous because it spans a wide range of types and scales. I sorted these work samples using three ideas inspired by the mission statement: combining design expertise with long-term local engagement, creating tangible things like houses and a park, and convening people in and out of town to explore the future of rural places together. The zine can be unfolded to reveal a collage I made using pictures from various Epicenter events and scenes since the spring of 2022.
